Emma Stone
Emily Jean Stone, also known as Emma,
was born in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 6, 1988. She was the daughter of
Krista Jean Stone (nee Yeager), who is a housewife, and Jeffrey Charles Stone
(CEO of a firm that contracts and was its founder and CEO). She is of Swedish,
German and British Isles descent. Stone began her acting career in the ages of
a child, as a member of the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, where she
made her stage debut in the Kenneth Grahame production "The Wind in the
Willows". Through her teens, Stone was a part of numerous stage
productions before she took the decision to pursue a career in acting.
Officially, she designed a PowerPoint presentation that was backed by Madonna's
"Hollywood" and titled "Project Hollywood", to convince her
parents to let her leave school and relocate to Los Angeles. She and her mother
made the pitch, and then moved to LA. Her education was done at home, and she
would spend the rest of her time auditioning. Her TV debut in 2004 when she was
chosen to play the character as Laurie Partridge on the VH1 reality show In
Search of the Partridge Family. The show led to many small TV performances in
the years to follow. Her movie debut was as Jules in Superbad (2007) and
following a string of impressive performances, her lead part as Olive in Easy A
(2010) established her as a leading actress. She attended Xavier College
Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona. Although she's known as an redhead, her true
hair shade is blonde. Judd Apatow was the one who suggested that she change her
natural hair shade to Superbad (2007). The movie was so well received that she
decided to keep her hair. When she was 15, she convinced her parents that she
was able to move to Hollywood. She made this happen by creating an PowerPoint presentation
titled Project Hollywood. She began acting when she was 11 years old and was a
part of Phoenix's Valley Youth Theatre. Here, she starred on over 16 stages.
She also took part in the theatre's comedy improv group. Caylee Cowan also
performed at the Valley Youth Theatre.
