Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born August
26, 2002) is known as Lil Tecca, is an American musician and rapper. The
release of "Ransom," his 2019 single, allowed him to become a
mainstream star. The song was featured on his mixtape debut We Love You Tecca (2019)
which reached number 4 on the US Billboard 200. It also contained singles Love
Me and Did It Again. His debut studio album titled"Virgo" (2020) was
released at number 10 on the Billboard 200. It also featured the Billboard Hot
100-charting singles "Dolly" & "When You Down". The
second mixtape "We Love You Tecca 2", came out in August 2021. It
featured "Repeat It" as well as "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin
Anthony Sharpe was the son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born on August 26,
2002, in Queens, New York City. He was raised in the Springfield Gardens a
neighborhood of Queens which he later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island.
Sharpe was a young man with ambitions to become a basketball player, however
Sharpe switched on music when he turned 12. Sharpe attended Lawrence High
School. Tecca was nine years old age when he began to rap on his Xbox. The two
would make a mockery of one another. One of them was uploaded to SoundCloud
some time ago, but it was removed. At first, he did not have any plans to pursue
a music career, but he dreamed of becoming a NBA star. But, during middle
school, his interest in basketball faded and started to take music more
seriously. His first track to gain some recognition, "Tectri", was
made in collaboration with his buddy, Lil Gummybear, and it was released in the
early part of 2017. He also dropped "Callin" as one of his first
songs. The following year his career was beginning to grow with his hit single
"Ransom", which was released on Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade
YouTube channel on May 22nd, 2019. The song peaked at 4 on the Billboard Hot
100 charts and was played over 900,000,000 times on Spotify and more than 300
million times on YouTube.
