Marcia Harvey
Marcia Harvey is an African-American
author, more famous as the ex-wife of comedy legend and TV host, Steve Harvey.
Marcia Harvey leads a quiet life, avoiding any media attention. Steve did not
have the same fame and success that he has now, but they were married 14 years
ago. The exact reasons for the couple splitting up were not known and rumors
were always heard in Hollywood. Some blame it on Steve Harvey's unsavory
behavior and some to his choosing an alternative career path to comedy. Steve
Harvey separated from his two daughters when she was pregnant with their third
baby, causing her to feel devastated. Despite all of the struggles, she has
forged a successful career in fashion and writing. Her books include
"Marcia: Eyes To The Soul', 'Marcia: Poems From The Heart', and 'Marcia:
Thoughts From My Mind'. The kindness of her character has been a source of
inspiration to her children. Marcia Harvey was raised in an African-American
household and is not well-off. She started her career with Saks Fifth Avenue, a
department store. She was introduced to Steve several years later at a friend's
wedding party. They became a couple and were married in 1980. Steve was working
as an insurance salesman at that moment and the couple was blessed with twin
daughters in 1982. At that point, Steve was already beginning to lose interest
in his work and was looking to pursue his own entertainment business
particularly stand-up comedy. Marcia and Steve experienced a lot conflict and
reports later suggested that they were beginning to split up. A large part of
the fame and success of Marcia Harvey stemmed from her marriage and divorce to
Steve Harvey. Although the facts leading to their divorce in 1994 have been
kept private but there is no doubt that Marcia was pregnant with their third
child. This was the point at which things completely fell apart. Marcia filed
for divorce in 1993. Marcia had to file for divorce before the court after her
divorce and Steve Harvey's denial of payments for child support and alimony.
